6:8 Photography is a two man business made up of Kevan Wilkie and Duane Clemens. We met in University, back while we were studying other things. The business grew out of a shared love of photography and hiking, and a few well-connected friends who believed in us. Even though we only had pictures of mountains and chipmunks in our portfolio, Lowell and Julie convinced us to shoot their wedding back in 2007, and things grew from there.
It seems hard to believe, but we have since shot over 220 weddings, both together and individually. This path has introduced us to so many people that we would never have had the privilege of knowing otherwise, and we are so thankful to be able to call many of our past clients our friends.
We came up with the name 6:8 Photography from a bible verse (Micah 6:8) which says:
What God is looking for in men and women [is] quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously.
We don’t always live up to these principles, but it is something that we strive towards all the time; both in our personal lives and in how we run our business.
Thank-you for considering 6:8 Photography. We look forward to chatting with you about how we might tell the story of your wedding. Be sure to check out our testimonials page to learn what others have thought about working with us.
