When Kevan and I are looking for new locations to shoot, it typically leads us off the beaten track and on back roads, quad trails, etc.  Amy & Shane live in Baynes Lake, just on the shores of Koocanusa (for those of you that follow our blog, we did a wedding out there last summer on a houseboat with Gail & Dwayne) and they share a similar philosophy.  They love exploring the area either in their truck or on their horses and already had a few spots in mind for their engagement session.  When we arrived we jumped in their truck and just drove and explored – our favourite way to shoot!  We did an early evening session with them to time the light for some sunset shots off their dock and it was tough because there were so many great spots to shoot before heading down there.  It’s tough being on a timeline!  Here’s a few from the first part of their session.

Living on the shores of Koocanusa and having the water as a major part of their summers, Amy and Shane wanted to do something a little different.  They plan on sending out Save The Date cards and wanted the tag line to say, “Taking The Plunge.”  The picture below is the one they’re going to use for it.

Yeah…I guess it’s pretty nice on the lake in the evening…
