Barbara and Jeff did not have a typical wedding timeline! It involved getting married in Calgary in a full Orthodox ceremony, and then travelling out to Banff for their reception at the Banff Springs Hotel. Always fun to change the script a little bit!
We started with some getting ready shots in Calgary.
It was hot?
I absolutely loved the soft light coming into the room while Barbara was getting tied into her dress. I also love that it was all-hands on deck!
Reading a card from Jeff.
Arriving at the church. As I mentioned, it was an Orthodox ceremony, which means that neither Duane or I really knew what was going on. I really like flying by the seat of my pants like that every once in a while though – so many interesting things to shoot! They may be getting a few extra ceremony photos in their gallery though! 🙂
Putting on the rings. The priest’s face makes me laugh every time I see the photo.
This girl was hilarious. I think she might have found the ceremony a little long. 🙂
Then it was out to Banff for a few quick portraits.
Mount Yamnuska in the background.
The reception was at the Banff Springs Hotel. Always a treat to shoot there!
Jasmine Esau of Reflections Weddings did the decor. Beautiful work as always!
A few more shots around the grounds of Banff Springs.
And then it was reception time! They greeted their guests from the Juliet balcony overlooking Mt. Stephen hall.
Right into their first dance.
There were some really heartfelt speeches.
