Courtney and Matt – Lethbridge Wedding Photography

June 4, 2012

Wow – what an entertaining day we had with Courtney and Matt at their wedding! When Kevan and I met up at the ceremony after covering the getting ready process for each of the sides of the wedding party, both of us commented on how hilarious each group was.  Stress-free, light-hearted, and hilarious conversation with each group in the morning, and that really set the stage for the rest of the day!

Courtney & Matt were referred to us by Gillian & Andrew, one of our awesome couples from last summer! Courtney spent a little time on Pintrest before the wedding and had a vision for how she wanted things; from the unique ceremony setup to the beautiful details, it was all really well planned and executed with the assistance of Tracy Austin with the Coast Hotel and the gang over at Pink Tie Events.

Enough talking for a bit! Here are some of my favourites from their day, starting with an awesome couple and a sweet ride!

Courtney’s Dad seeing her in her gown for the first time.  It was a pretty moving moment for everyone in the room.

Matt had a similar reaction when he watched Courtney walk down the aisle!

As mentioned, just an awesome ceremony setup!

One of my favourite shots of the day!  Kind of has a Scotland feel to it, but was taken in the coulee north of Lethbridge.

Absolutely one of the funniest reception for speeches in recent memory!  Just the right roast to toast ratio!  I was crouched down next to Courtney’s Mom while there was a speech to Matt, and she kind of snickered at me because I was laughing so hard.  My only defence was that the speech was way too funny!  Based on the image below, I think Courtney & Matt would have to agree!

Normally I wouldn’t include a shot like this in a blog post, but it has a great story that goes along with it.  Courtney & Matt love video games, and Matt recited the words from a love song written about playing Mario Cart, which you can listen to by clicking here.  It’s actually pretty clever and well-written, and I think it was a perfect toast to his new wife!

A bit after Courtney & Matt’s first dance they planned to have the two wedding songs their parents danced to on their wedding days.  Really cool idea!

Thank you so much Courtney & Matt for including us in your wedding! We can’t wait to hang out with you guys again real soon!
