Well, after all these years I can finally say that I’ve shot a wedding in Waterton. It seems absurd, but even though it is only 90 minutes away from Fernie, I have never photographed a wedding there in the last nine years. Denise and Craig definitely made the wait worth it though.
Back to the start of the day. Cute much?
The ceremony was at the cozy Anglican church in Waterton.
I love watching for reactions during the ceremony. This is Craig’s mom.
And these are Denise’s folks.
They may have underestimated just how much effort is required to take these things a couple of km in wedding attire. I may have had to give them a little push at one point. Craig wants you all to know that he didn’t really need the help though. 😉
Ice cream break! Waterton and ice cream are definitely linked in my mind. I think every time I have been there to hike or visit I have gone for ice cream so this just seemed fitting.
Denise has been coming to Waterton for years and years with her family. She said she had a super secret spot to use for her wedding photos. I will admit that I am always a little sceptical when people tell me that they have a good spot for photos. (I’ve seen some real duds over the years) Denise is welcome to come be my location spotter any time though! This was a home-run!
And then of course, we had to use the overlook at the Prince of Wales hotel. I was a little worried that Denise was going to get blown off the bluff.
We actually went back to the Prince of Wales hotel at dusk for a few shots. I think it was worth it!
The first dance was spectacular!
