Fall is in full swing here in Fernie. The air is cool and crisp, which is a stark contrast to what it was like at Emily & Aaron’s wedding back in August. In the days leading up to their wedding the valley filled with smoke from some of the fires burning in west and south of us. While it mostly obscured the mountains, it did create some nice even light that meant we could shoot pretty much anywhere – quite a stark difference from the Laurence & Jeremy’s wedding that Kevan shot at Silver Start Resort in the Okanagan over the same weekend.
My day started out hanging out with Emily and her bridesmaids…
…and since the guys were getting ready next door, it made it pretty easy for me to grab some shots with them too!
If something is going to stump the guys at a wedding, it’s either folding pocket squares or pinning flowers. In this case it was the latter.
As part of it they did their ring exchange – nice little addition to the first look!
Shooting from Fernie Alpine Resort across to Castle Mountain. It’s hard to make out details, but it gave a bit of a mysterious look to the mountains.
Before heading back for their ceremony we walked down some of the streets & alleys in town for a bit of a different look.
Emily & Aaron’s wedding was held at Lizard Creek Lodge – right at the the base of Fernie Alpine Resort. We’ve done quite a few weddings there, and it’s always an interesting juxtaposition having what can be a very solemn moment in a ceremony quickly followed up by hoots & hollers from excited mountain bikers getting on the lift and talking about their last ride down the hill.
The Green Petal knocking the flower design out of the park…yet again!
