Every time I shoot a wedding at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and get in the gondola to head to the summit, I can’t help but feel blessed being able to do this for a living! Both Kevan and I have the opportunity to be part of one of the most important days in our clients lives; to hang out with them, their families, and friends and experience everything that happens at their weddings. I had such a great time with Nancy & Jason, their kids, and the rest of their wedding party last weekend. Everyone was relaxed, having fun, the weather was about as perfect as you could possibly ask for!
I probably sound like a bit of a broken record, but the Kicking Horse Weddings at Kicking Horse is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. Part of it has to do with the amazing backdrop you get at the top of the mountain, the professionalism of the staff taking care of you at the summit during the reception, and just the rustic yet intimate feel of each of the weddings we end up shooting there. If you’re looking for a mountain wedding, I highly recommend you give them a call!
Nancy’s daughter tying her into her dress.
While at the summit with Nancy and her attendants, my assistant Dan was capturing a few details of Jason and the guys getting ready.
I like this shot of Jason’s son making sure he looks presentable!
I love the views from the summit. Not a bad backdrop for a wedding!
Special thanks to Nancy for climbing up one of the ridges around sunset for these next few shots! After having her sit on this rock somewhat close to the edge I learned that she has a bit of an issue with heights! Sorry Nancy, and I hope you agree that the photos are worth it!
This is one of my favourite images from the day.
