So very excited to share with you some images from Lisa and Dario’s beautiful wedding in June. There are some groups that are so easy to fall into step with, and I am very thankful to Lisa and Dario and their family and friends for the openness and ease with which I was welcomed. As I mentioned a few weeks ago when I posted their engagement session, there are so many ties with Lisa and this group that it really is like hanging out with old friends. Calling them clients just seems weird and way too formal!
Lisa is the creative talent behind WeConnect wedding planning, so it is only fitting that her wedding featured lots of amazing details! Combined with her parent’s amazing property, it was a great backdrop for a wedding.

Coming into Fernie. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this place?

Getting tied into the dress. Definitely a team effort!

I loved both of their reactions to seeing each other for the first time as Lisa came down the aisle!

And then we were off for the formals. If you look closely you can see that the rain had started to fall at this point. Of course, fifteen minutes earlier, it had looked like the weather was going to hold out perfectly, and we had walked to the furthest point on the property from the umbrellas. Oops.

It’s hard to explain how wet we got in the next twenty minutes, so I am just going to go with one word. Very.

Fortunately the light coming in by the creek was very nice, and Lisa and Dario were happy to keep going with the photos. I love it when clients just roll along with unforeseen events! I was also very glad to have Dario’s brother, Damian along to hold an umbrella and help me keep the camera gear somewhat dry!

This was their reaction when the sun came out and it looked like we were going to be able to do the reception outside after all. Nothing staged here, just unbridled happiness!

Carmen from the Green Petal in Fernie did all of the flowers. As always a spectacular job!

Always a pleasure working alongside the very talented Nic Genovese. Nic has become something of a local legend, and spent the winter touring all over Western Civilization with PinkBike doing some amazing work for them. I know its not wedding related, but you really should check out the promo video he made up for biking in Fernie. You will see why Fernie really is one of the best places on earth. And to all the clients that I have tried to convince to come out riding with us – you will see why you should!

Battle of the gender bean-bag toss! It got quite competitive for a bit there, and I have to say that the guys got soundly beaten. Like it wasn’t even close.

 he getaway car! Love it!

 A view of Lake Koocanusa.

Entering the Elk Valley. You can see the tunnel on Highway 3 in this one.  Coming into Fernie. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this place?
