I’ve lived in British Columbia now for about 6 years and somehow I had never been further north than Highway 1 until last weekend! I had the honour of celebrating with Melinda & Aron and capturing their relaxed backyard wedding all the way up in Prince George.
When I met with them on Skype over a year ago, they told me their plans to have a smaller wedding with an afternoon tea. They mentioned they wanted to leave lots of time for pictures! Their wedding was one of those rare opportunities where we get to do both a first look and then portraits following the ceremony and lunch reception as well!
Here are some of my favourites.
Aron had some custom-printed ties made up for the guys.
I felt a little bad for Aron. His best man dropped him off at the first look location and then left. The girls were running a few minutes behind, and I think Aron was waiting on this path for about 20 minutes all by himself.
I think seeing Melinda for the first time made the wait worth while.
Flower kids. They got a little lost and distracted on the way up the aisle, but eventually made it there!
Melinda and her Dad tearing up a little as they walked down the aisle.
I love how happy and excited Melinda was during the ceremony.
High fives to seal the deal!
Melinda’s flowers made by a friend out of sheets of music.
They had one of the most colourful cakes I’ve seen. I don’t normally eat cake at weddings, but I felt compelled to try. It was delicious!
Following their reception we headed off to another location for a few more portraits before their family dinner.
