We are getting a little bit out of order with this post, but Michelle and JD were the perfect capstone to our 2014 summer wedding schedule. They had a perfectly beautiful and comfortable Kelowna day last month when they were married at Cedar Creek Winery. Duane and I shot this one together, and we both felt so welcomed by the families, it was a really fun way to round out the summer. I hope that you enjoy the images.
Duane started his day with JD and the guys.
It was almost as much fun to watch Michelle’s mom react to the vows as it was to watch Michelle and JD. I know we talk a lot about the advantages of having two photographers, but this is Exhibit A for sure – one of us is free to watch the front of the ceremony, and one of us is free to watch the crowd.
We were fortunate to have a bit of time to shoot around the winery before going to our second location.
I warned Michelle in the morning that she might have to earn a few of her locations that we had chosen – that they weren’t going to come free, but that they would be worth it. She was all over it. We are proud to graduate another member into the Hiking Brides Club!
I think that it was well worth the effort though. Duane and I were loving the light, the background and the connection between Michelle and JD. Not much more that you can ask for as a wedding photographer!
The reception was at the beautiful Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna.
And the team at Stage Right Etc did an amazing job of setting up the room. You should have seen Michelle’s face when she saw the room for the first time!
(Stage Right did all of the floral arrangements for the day, as well as provided the day-of coordination – for anyone looking for similar services, I can’t speak highly enough of Ria, Sarah and the whole crew. They are truly amazing at what they do!)
