November may be my least favourite month of the year.  It’s usually pretty dreary outside, not cold enough for consistent snow, and when it’s raining all I want to do is stay inside, drink a hot coffee, and either reflect on warmer months or wait in anticipation for winter proper.

By contrast, the photographer in me loves September.  The light is usually fantastic most of the day, it’s still warm outside, and the changing seasons make for interesting backgrounds. Case and point is the day I did Nicole & Joel’s engagement session.  We were going to head out to the mountains for it, but the colour was so amazing by the Bow River in Calgary that we decided to shoot there instead.

Can’t wait for their wedding here in Fernie next summer!
