Sarah and Milo were married on October 21st, with a ceremony in Banff, Alberta, and a reception at Fairmont Banff Springs.
Because of her job, Sarah moves all over the world every few years, and since she was coming to the end of her time in Canada, she decided to do a destination mountain wedding here before she left. I was more than happy to help out!
I started out the day getting ready with the guys before moving on to the girls. It was just Sarah and her friend, and that small, intimate getting ready time was wonderful to capture. One of my favorite images of the day was a black and white shot of Sarah standing in the staircase at the Banff Springs Hotel. It just looks so classy and timeless.
More than anything else about this wedding, I enjoyed just being with the people involved. There was so much laughter—particularly during the ceremony. Mile was very particular about turning Sarah’s hand so that I could see the ring as he slipped it onto her finger, just like the officiant had instructed him beforehand!
When it was time for portraits, we drove along a fairly popular roadway up toward Lake Minnewanka. We stopped at a few interesting locations as we did, just relaxing and taking advantage of off-the-cuff moments for a truly enjoyable portrait session!
Sarah & Milo, thank you for entrusting me with taking your wedding photos. I wish you guys nothing but the best as you continue on with your globe-trotting adventures together!
