Taegen & Dustin are spontaneous people. They’re from Saskatchewan and are planning a destination wedding here in Fernie next year. We originally talked about doing a winter engagement session together, but after seeing Blanda & Jordan’s engagement pictures on our Facebook page, they decided on a whim that they wanted to try and get them done in the fall. I’m good with last-minute, so after the call to confirm schedules we were shooting together a few days later.
We’re really lucky in Fernie because our colour seems to last a really long time. We start out with the deciduous leaves changing in early September, and usually when they’re all done the Tamaracks are just starting to change. It means we get about a month and a half of colour in the trees. We were decidedly at the end of fall when I did their session, so to get some interesting colour we had to go on a bit of an adventure!
