I am thrilled to be able to share Trista and James’ wedding with you today. It was the first time in a while that I have shot in Calgary since their engagement session (although Duane shot here in July). It’s amazing how changing the type of backdrop gets me seeing things in a new way. Variety being the spice of life and all that.
Trista was just a little excited when she got her dress on.
A few simple portraits of Trista.
We’ve photographed a lot of weddings lately where the groom has some really awesome cufflinks. I don’t wear them often, but am thinking I might have to jump on that train.
This next set of images makes me laugh. We were wandering around downtown Calgary for their portraits, when we were approached by a gentleman and his son (who incidentally was wearing a Batman cape) and told us that we had to go check out the space ship. Not going to lie – I thought he might be a little less than mentally stable and I may have given him a ‘uh-huh, sure we will do that…” But when we came around the corner, lo and behold, there was a giant spaceship and we used it. So, here it is – an official apology to the man and his Batboy for my unwarranted condescension.
(Sidenote – anyone from Calgary know why there was a giant spaceship set up by Hotel Arts?)
